How do I put on Gothic style makeup and do my hair in that style?

I am trying to fulfill my children%26#039;s wishes to be gothic for Halloween and once in awhile around their friends. They think it is cool that I understand that people are different and their styles can be different. They like the fact that I can fit in with their friends and understand it is the inner person not the outer person that you look at. They asked me to %26quot;go gothic%26quot; for halloween and to be honest I don%26#039;t know enough about the makeup and hair styles to do it justice. I love the clothes and shoes and even some of the makeup that I have seen. Any tips from those who do this daily or whatever? I don%26#039;t know what makeup I will need to get or what accessories to buy for this. If I like it as much as I think I will, I may do it more often. Thanks for the advice and tips.

Being Goth is doing your own thing with make up, and your clothes, and whatever else you want. Anyway, that%26#039;s what it was intended as. But dark/black/crimson lipstick, heavy dark/black liner, and paler foundation than you normally use are a must. Also, I don%26#039;t know what color hair you have, but if it%26#039;s dark, try putting red/blue/orange/green streaks in it. If it%26#039;s light, I like pink. If there is a Hot Topic near you, I would suggest going there. You can find all that you need. And since your kids were so gung ho on you dong this, bring them along. I%26#039;m asssuming that they must like the style also, so they would know what you need.

Reply:Usually Goth people dress in a lot of black, and wear a lot of black makeup, or really bright strange colors of eyeshadow like hot pink, lime green, purple, red, or whatever floats your boat. Just experiment, and pick the look you think looks the most %26quot;Goth%26quot;.
